Happy New Year
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to make our club the success that it has been in 2016 on and off the field. We look forward to developing our club going into 2017.
Club Lotto
No Jackpot Winner. This week’s numbers (Tuesday 3rd January) were: 1, 11, 14 & 15. Our 5 lucky dip winners winning £20 each were: Seamus McVeigh, B Aiken, Cormac McAleer, Cait McCrory & Pat Quinn (Cranogue). Next week’s jackpot returns to £2000. Next Draw takes place on Tuesday 10th January at 9pm. If you need a lotto seller to call to your home, contact any committee member or alternatively tickets can be purchased in Tally’s Mace or Donnelly’s Post Office. Lotto is an essential source of income for the club & your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Club Shop
Our Club Shop will be open this Friday 6th January (7.30pm – 8.30pm) for anyone who needs any club gear or change any sizes that Santa may have got wrong. The club shop will re-open in February.
Club Membership
We welcome back our existing members this year and would also encourage new members to come and be part of our club. Only paid up members for 2017 are eligible and insured to use club facilities and train/play for Galbally Pearses. It is important that anyone who intends to play football for our club is registered – if you are not registered you will not be able to play, apply for Gaeltacht Grant or participate in the Scor. Thank you for your continued support & we welcome you to be a part of our GAA community & club. We will be holding a registration evening towards the end of January – more details to follow.

Marathon Match
Liam Rafferty, one of our Senior Men has been selected to play in the ‘Marathon Match’ 24 hour Gaelic football game in aid of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland and Michaela Foundation on 7th/8th January in Garvaghey Centre – Home of Tyrone GAA. Along with 41 other players from across Ireland they’ll be playing for 24 hours in order to break the world record for the longest Gaelic football game. Liam is raising money for both charities and has set up his Everyday Hero page. If you are able to donate anything he would appreciate any help you can offer in helping him reach his fundraising target. Referee Recruitment
Tyrone County Board are running The New Refs training courses beginning on Mon 9th Jan for all potential new referees. They intend to organise these based over 3 nights and they will provide training and support for potential referees. All New referees will be given mentoring support and following initial training induction would start to referee at youth level with a progression over time to Adult level. Enrolment for this course will be open until Friday 6th Jan 2017. The criteria is for candidates that are 17 and over and have an interest in refereeing. Ideally we ask that you consider potentially players retiring early or some younger Club members who may not have made their Club teams but who retain a keen interest in their Club; somebody who has the right resolve and temperament with an experience of the game. Even if anyone is playing at Minor Level & might wish to Referee even at Youth level. If you are interested and wish to take part in this training opportunity please contact Gareth Rafferty before Friday.

We will be hosting the Ulster Final of the Scor na nOg on Saturday 14th January 2017 at 5pm.
