12th January – 2nd March
Our Health and Well-being Sub-Committee invite our Club members and the whole community to get involved again in the “Every Step Counts” Challenge.
This challenge consists of everyone completing a distance of 4000km in total as a team, for the Club to be in with a chance of winning O Neills vouchers that we can put towards sport supplies.
Using the MyLife app you can link your health app on your phone, your Apple Watch or FitBit or manually log your daily physical activity. This is a great way to start the New Year with the goal of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
Our walking track is available to anyone who would like to avail of it as it provides a safe space that is buggy, bike and wheelchair friendly with easy access to lighting. This is open from 9am-10pm Monday-Saturday (Sunday is pending).
You can also log in any workout or physical activity that you partake in. All you have to do is:

Ashling Murphy R.I.P.
Piarsaigh an Ghallbhaile CLG share the sense of deep grief, loss and anger at the tragic loss of one of Ireland’s finest daughters, a young lady who exemplified and encapsulated everything that is good and noble about our ancient nation. Over the years the club has developed close links and a real sense of connection with Tullamore, Co Offaly, where two of our own have established several very successful business enterprises. We are proud to have Palfinger Ireland as one of our main sponsors and are very grateful to Seamus Kane and Luke Carberry for their longstanding and ongoing support in so many ways.
This week’s senseless act has cast a dark cloud over the midlands and far beyond. We are acutely aware that the Murphy family, who are held in such high esteem, are near neighbours and close friends of the entire Kane family. Ashling and her sister Amy worked for a number of Seamus’s businesses as they went through school and college, right up until her fulltime appointment in Durrow National School in September past, a vocation she was born for.
Ashling’s photograph at one of her old jobs radiates her beauty and personality; a truly wonderful human being who was loved and adored by everyone who came in contact with her. We assure Seamus, his family, and all who are grieving her untimely death of our continued thoughts and prayers. May Ashling now Rest in Peace.
