Pearse Park clean-up
Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedule to help with the clean up at Pearse Park.  It was all very much appreciated.  There will be another day organised soon.
Senior & Reserve Men
Our Reserve & Senior Men play Greencastle this Sunday at home at 2.15pm & 3.45pm respectively.  All support welcome.
Senior Ladies
Pearse Park was the venue for Round 6 of the junior tie between Galbally & Clonoe on Wednesday 1st June.  Clonoe started the brighter and held a commanding lead at half time 4-3 til 2-3. The Pearses scores came from Amy Carberry, Catherine Walker and Celine Carberry scoring 2-01.
Clonoe were first to score after half-time and from straight after the throw up they scored another goal leaving Galbally 9 down and all to do. Though not to be out shined on their own turf, with determination Galbally scored 1-11 in the 2nd half, with experience on the Pearses side Eimear Tally, Whonita Hagan, Justina Mulgrew and Amy Carberry all contributing to those scores.
A team performance that the management and Pearse’s supporters was proud off.  A special mention with Celine Carberry starting at full forward and finishing in Midfield completed her tally of 3-4.
A mention to Clonoe, great young footballing team and a force to be reckoned with in the future!
Final score:- Galbally Pearses 3-14 Clonoe O’Rahillys 6-3
On Monday 6th June Pearse Park hosted the Senior ladies Junior league round 3 re-fixture between Galbally Pearse’s Ladies and neighbours Pomeroy. Pomeroy was quickest out of the blocks with 1-2 without response inside first 10mins, though not to be out done on home ground Pearse’s ladies well worked ball from defence directly to the forwards resulted in some fine scores from Claire McKeown and Celine Carberry breaking down the Pomeroy defence, with Eimear Tally’s two points & Amy Carberry one point.  Galbally went into the half time break on top.
Half time score Galbally 1-5 : Pomeroy 1-3
Galbally Ladies been the most effective in the second half periods in previous games and was to be a repeat performance of that as the defence continue their impeccable play.  The McGuigan sisters Michelle & Alicia controlled the game at the edge of square with Laura Kane in goals pulling saves off at the highest of standards.  Individual Performances from Sarah Rafferty, Justina Mulgrew & Sinead McCann all contributed to a solid defensive line only conceding 3 scores in second half!
Too many great performances to mention with Pearses subs making excellent use of fresh legs and helped contribute to 2-7 in second half.  Both second half goals came way of Justina Mulgrew and Claire McKeown to kill all chances of a comeback from a physical and spirited Pomeroy side.
Final Score:-  Galbally Pearses 3-12 Pomeroy Plunkett’s 2-5
Scorers : Claire McKeown 1-1 Celine Carberry 1-2 Amy Carberry 0-1 Alanna McKeown 0-1 Justina Mulgrew 1-2 Eimear Tally 0-5
We would like to wish Niamh Donnelly a healthy & safe journey in America and wish her a speedy return to the team.

Minor Men
Our minors have been invited to attend the Feile Frankie in Ardboe this Saturday 11th June.
Under 14 (Boys)
Hard Luck to our U14 who lost in the league Semi-Final on Thursday evening against Clann na Gael.
That finishes the season for our young U14 team, but with many still eligible for U12’s and the older ones able to play for U16 there will be plenty of football for the rest of the year.
Under 14 (Girls)
In a highly entertaining Derby championship preliminary round fixture, the U14 girls took on Donaghmore in the St Patrick’s grounds. It was an intense start, with captain Maire McElhone running the troops in defence to hold Donaghmore out to their first score late into the first quarter, with Annabel Quinn and Eilis Tally both impressing in full back.
Galbally had some fine runs up the pitch through Niamh Rafferty, Emer Condon and Ellen Quinn but were unfortunately we’re unable to get between the posts.
A goal from Donaghmore left Galbally trailing 1-3 to 0-0 at half time.
Galbally were certainly first out of the blocks in the second half, blasting in two goals after each other. The first came from Niamh Rafferty who capitalised on a long ball in, and the second from a quick reacting Saoirlaith McKeown who passed into Niamh Rafferty on the edge of the square.
It became end to end again after this, however, unfortunately despite tiring runs from from the half forward line and offensive wing back Emma Carberry, Galbally weren’t to score for the rest of the game, Donaghmore firing through two goals to finish it out.
A heartbreaking result after a performance the girls can be so proud of.
Team:- Kayleigh Loughran, Eilis Tally, Annabel Quinn, Clara McDonald, Erin McDonald, Maire McElhone, Emma Carberry, Ellen Quinn, Mia Loughran, Rachel Kelly, Niamh Rafferty, Clara Carberry, Emer Condon, Niamh McElhone, Saoirlaith McKeown
Subs used: Emma McBride for S. McKeown; Aoibheann Christie for E. McDonald; Alannah McNulty for C. McDonald; Aideen McGlone for C. Carberry
That finishes the season for our young U14 team, but with many still eligible for U12’s and the older ones able to play for U16 there will be plenty of football for the rest of the year.
