Next up is Beragh in Beragh on Wednesday 18th May @ 7pm.  All support welcome.

Under 14 (Boys)
Our U14 boys were unfortunate to not come away with a win on Friday night in the first round of the championship on Friday night after playing Greencastle twice in 1 week.  Final Score Galbally 2-06 – 5-14 Greencastle
Next up is the U14 Boys Football League Quarter-Finals that will be played on Thursday 19th May @ 7.15pm in Pearse Park when they take on Dromore.  All support welcome.

Please note that U6-U12 training is on so there will be a lot of traffic about.

Under 14 (Girls)
Our U14 Girls played Loughmacrory in Pearse Park last Thursday night and were unfortunate not to come out with a win.
U12 Boys & Girls

Our U12 Boys & Girls are attending a blitz on Friday evening in Rock as part of their Centenary Celebrations.  Further details will be given out at training on Thursday evening.

U8 / U10 / U12 (Boys & Girls)
We held a very successful blitz on Saturday morning with clubs from Dungannon, Clonoe, Kildress, Kileeshil & Edendork.  It was great to see the future of Galbally Pearses out in such great numbers.  Thank you to everyone who helped in any way with organising and providing refreshments.
This week’s U8 / U10 / U12 training will take place on Thursday night at 7pm – 8pm (7pm – 7.45pm sharp for all U6’s).  Any U6’s attending MUST have a parent accompanying them to training.

There is an U14 Boys league game on the pitch at 7.15pm so we would ask that parents use the front car park and walk their children to the pitches due to the increased volume of traffic.

Gum Shields

From January 1 2014, this rule will apply to all players at all age grades.  If a player refuses to comply with a Referee’s instruction to wear a mouth guard, he / she will initially be cautioned by the Referee and if the player continues to refuse, the Referee can send him / her off.  It is important that everyone wears their mouthguard to training so that they can get used to wearing it.

Good Luck to Daniel Kerr and the rest of the Tyrone Minor & Senior Panel who take on Derry in Celtic Park on Sunday 22nd May.
Well done to Niamh Rafferty & the Tyrone U14 Girls who were runners up in an All-Ireland Blitz on Saturday.  Good luck to this group of girls who are playing in the Ulster B Final this Saturday 21st May in Mullaghbrack, Co Armagh against Down.
Well done to Sean Hurson who referred the Fermanagh v Antrim Championship Clash on Sunday 15th May.
Well done to our over 35’s who donned the Galbally Jersey for a very worthwhile charity tournament in the Loup on Saturday evening.

Good Luck to all our Primary 4 club members who will be making their First Communion in St Johns Church on Saturday morning.  We hope you all enjoy your special day.

Defibrilator Training
Following a Church Gate Collection held at St John’s Church, Galbally on Graveyard Sunday last year, the money collected has been used to purchase 3 new defibrillators, 5 external Heated Cabinets and Service and Replacement Batteries on two existing Defibrillators in the area owned by Piarsaigh an Ghalbhaille and the Cappagh Village Regeneration Group.
The Defibrillators have been installed at 5 locations in a Yellow Cabinet / Green Cabinet within the area and are for use by the whole community in the event of an emergency.
Locations:
1. Galbally Community Centre Entrance Gates
2. Tally’s Shop / Bar Front Wall – Galbally
3. Malachy Boyles Bar Front Wall – Cappagh
4. Paul Hollands Front Wall – Dernaseer Crossroads
5. Gortavoy Feeds Entrance Gates – Gortavoy

Since then a number of defibrillator & Basic First Aid certificated Courses have been held and 60 people in our area have been trained up in the use of these units. We would ask that everyone who is not trained in the use of these units to find out who is local to them and be familiar in their locations.
