Date For Your Diaries
Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile GAC was affiliated in 1949 and was named after one of the signatories of the Proclamation of 1916 “Padraig Pearse”.  Come along on Tuesday 3rd May @ 8pm to an evening of music, song & verse in the McCaughey Suite to celebrate the life of P. H. Pearse on the Anniversary of his death.  We have a special guest speaker on the night, Mr Feargal Enright.

Senior Men
Next fixture us away to Dromore on Sunday 1st May at 3.45pm.

Reserve Men
Next fixture is away to Dromore on Sunday 1st May at 2.15pm.

Senior  Ladies
Next up is Round 2 of the Senior League on Sunday 1st May when our senior ladies take on Badoney away at 7pm.

Minor Boys
Congratulations to our Minor Boys who are through to the Semi-finals of the championship after a convincing win in Pearse park on Wednesday night against our neighbours Killeeshil on a scoreline Galbally 3-06 Killeeshil 1-09.

Minor Ladies
Our Minor Ladies are playing Trillick away on Tuesday 3rd May in the Quarter Finals of the Minor championship.  We would encourage as many to come an support the girls.

Under 14 (Boys)
Well done to our U14 boys who are through to the next stages of the U14 Feile Competition.  There is a friendly against Donaghmore on Thursday Night in Pearse Park.  All players to be at the pitch at 6.30pm.

Under 14 (Girls) 
Our U14 girls played Beragh in Round 5 of the league on Tuesday 26th April.  Against very strong opposition Beragh won on a scoreline Beragh 5-13 Galbally 1-01.  We wish Niamh Rafferty a speedy recovery.

Age Group Changes

Boys
Please take note of the following rule changes regarding ages for U8 / U10 & U12 Boys.
All Boys up to and including P4’s can now play for U8’s
All Boys up to and including P6’s can now play for U10’s
All Boys up in Primary 7 & Year 8 can now play for U12’s

Girls
Please take note of the following rule changes regarding ages for U8 and U10’s:
All girls up to and including P4’s can now play for U8’s
All girls up to and including P6’s can now play for U10’s
For U12 girls football, rules will remain as they previously were with date of birth eg Girls born in 2004 and later are eligible.
Any year 8’s born in 2003 will not be eligible to play u12 girls football

U8 / U10 / U12 Training
This week’s U8 / U10 / U12 training will resume at the normal time of 7pm to 8pm.  (7pm – 7.45pm for U6’s).  Any U6’s attending MUST have a parent accompanying them to training.
It was great to see so many parents out helping with drills etc last week and we would like to thank everyone who is continuing to help out!  Due to the very high numbers of children attending our Youth Training and to make it enjoyable for all the children we are asking for parents to offer their services during training to stand/ help out at a station & to help with toilet runs etc…  No experience necessary!

Club Lotto
We’ve changed it up a wee bit to offer even more winners if our Jackpot isn’t drawn!  Now there is a chance of 5 Lucky Winners of Winning £20 each.  Last week’s numbers (Tuesday 26th April) were: 7, 5, 12 & 4
Our 5 Lucky Dip winners winning £20 each were- Pauline Brannigan, Mary McCaughey, Pat Quinn, Philip Dowling & Damien McKenna.
Next week’s jackpot is £3600- if you’re not in you can’t win!  Next Draw takes place on Tuesday 3rd May.  If you need a lotto seller to call to your home, contact any committee member or alternatively tickets can be purchased in Tally’s Mace or Donnelly’s Post Office.  Lotto is an essential source of income for the club & your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Club an Phiarsaigh
The Key focus of Club an Phiarsaigh is to provide the finance for the continued development of our fantastic facilities, teams (young and old, male & female) for current and future generations.  Club an Phiarsaigh is central to the future of Gaelic Games in the Galbally area.   Join us and be part of the future!

National League Final
Our U14’s had a very enjoyable (& long) day at the National League finals on Sunday 24th April.  Some pictures from the day are available on our Facebook / Twitter pages.

Tyrone v Derry
Any club members looking tickets for the Tyrone v Derry Championship match can apply in writing to the club via the box left in Tally’s Shop.  Only club members need apply.  All individual requests MUST be accompanied with a club members name and contact number.

Last Man Standing
We are down to 81 participants left in our competition.  Check out Facebook / Twitter to see if you are still in.

Gaeltacht Grant Application
Anyone who is intending to attend the Gaeltacht this summer and wishes to avail of the Gaeltacht Grant, forms are available to download from our website www.galballygac.com.   To be eligible for this you must be a member of Galbally Pearses.  Also, applications are now being taken for Gaeltacht scholarships sponsored by Ulster Ladies Council.  There will be 4 x €250 scholarships available and the application form can be requested from Maggie Skelton at the email address listed below; secretary.Tyrone@lgfa.ie.  Closing date is May 20th 2016 and you have a chance to win €250.00 towards your Gaeltacht in summer.

Club Shop
During the month of April the club shop will open on Friday 29th April from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Special Mention
Congratulations to our current committee member Sean Hurson on his selection to the National Referee’s Championship Panel.

Congratulations to Conor Quinn & Mark Donnelly and the Tyrone U17 Academy on winning the Ulster League on Saturday 23rd April.  Commiserations to Daniel Kerr and the Tyrone Minors who were narrowly beaten in the Minor Final.

Well Done to all our Club Members & the Cannyman Community Arts on a successful production at the weekend.

Thoughts & Prayers

The club would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the families of John O’Neill (Dungannon), Michael McPeake (Swatragh) & Shea Daly (Augher).  May they Rest in Peace.  Our thoughts and prayers are with any families in the area who are dealing with illness in their family at this time.
