Membership
We are holding a Membership Registration evening in our  Club Shop on Friday 26th February from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.   Closing date for membership is Friday 18th March.  Membership Form attached.

For anyone who pays their Club an Phiarsaigh by Direct Debit on a continuing monthly basis – you don’t have to do anything – your membership is covered (for husband & wife – children are additional)

For anyone who pays their Club an Phiarsaigh by Cheque / Cash this is now due and can be paid to any committee member or call to the club shop on Friday 19th February between 7.30 & 8.30pm.

For anyone who is looking to join up to our Club an Phiarsaigh Scheme,  please download and complete form that can be downloaded from our website (www.galballygac.com) and bring to the club shop on Friday night between 7.30 & 8.30pm and we will be able to go through the form with you (copies are also available in the Club Shop or from Club Treasurer Aisling McCrory).

For our Club Members (Playing & Non-Playing) membership can be paid in our Club shop this Friday night between 7.30 & 8.30pm.   Anyone who intends to play for Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile in 2016 they MUST be a registered member of the club.   If you are not registered you will not be able to play, apply for Tyrone Tickets through our Club, apply for Gaeltacht Grants or participate in the Scor!

2016 Membership:

Adults:- £30

Husband & Wife :- £50

Student (18-21)/Over 65 years: £10

Youth (Under 18):- £5

Big Breakfast 2016
Preparations are underway for our St Patrick’s Day celebrations.  Mass will be celebrated in St John the Baptist Church at 10am, followed by our Big Breakfast and entertainment in Galbally Community Centre.
Fr. McGuckin would like to have as much of the ceremony as possible in Irish.  If you would like to join in with responses during the mass, and learn a few Irish phrases for the Big Breakfast, please come along to the Community Centre on Wednesday the 2nd March at 8pm to prepare for the celebrations.  Please contact Mairead Hurson or any committee member if you would like to participate in our celebrations.

Last Man Standing
We have recently launched our 2016 Last Man Standing competition.  Forms are available from our committee members, Senior & Minor Men & Ladies.  Be in with a chance to win £500 – entry fee £10 each.  If you’re not in you can’t win!

Defribrillator Units in Galbally- Training
Following a Church Gate Collection held at St John’s Church, Galbally on Graveyard Sunday last year we wish to advise you that a total of £2365.00 was collected.
The money collected has been used to purchase 3 new defibrillators, 5 external Heated Cabinets and Service and Replacement Batteries on two existing Defibrillators in the area owned by Piarsaigh an Ghalbhaille and the Cappagh Village Regeneration Group.

The Defibrillators have been installed at 5 locations in a Yellow Cabinet / Green Cabinet within the area and are for use by the whole community in the event of an emergency.

  2. Tally’s Shop / Bar Front Wall – Galbally
  3. Malachy Boyles Bar Front Wall – Cappagh
  4. Paul Hollands Front Wall – Dernaseer Crossroads
  5. Gortavoy Feeds Entrance Gates – Gortavoy

We would like to thank the above people who have all agreed to have the unit located at their premises.

A Defibrillator Training and Basic First Aid certificated Course will be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday 10th March  starting at 7.00pm.

The Cost of the course will be £25.00 per person.

Senior Ladies
Seniors Ladies training continues on Monday & Thursday nights at 7.30pm.

Minor Boys
Training continues on Monday & Wednesday nights at 7.15pm.
The first minor league game will be against our neighbours Killeeshil at home on Sunday 28th February at 4pm.

The postponed match against Edendork has been rescheduled for Wednesday 2nd March in Galbally at 7.30pm.  Further details will be given out at training.

Minor Ladies
Training for our Minor ladies is on Monday at 7.30pm & Thursday nights at 7.45pm

Well done to our Minor Ladies on their first league win on Saturday when they made the long journey to Owen Roe O’Neills winning on a scoreline of 3-10 to 2-7.  Well done to everyone involved.

Their next league game is against Ardboe on Thursday 3rd March at home at 7.45pm!  It would be great to see as much support out for our girls!

Under 14 (Boys)
Training continues this week on Thursday at 6.30pm – 7.30pm.
Our U14 boys are competing in grade 2A in 2016 and their first league game is scheduled for Saturday 5th March away to Derrylaughan at 1pm.  It is important that everyone is out at training!  Please take note in relation to membership!!

Under 14 (Girls)
Training continues on Thursday from 6.45pm to 7.45pm and Saturday from 11am to 12noon and it is important that everyone is out!  There will hopefully be a challenge match arranged for Saturday- further details will be given out at training on Thursday.  Please take note in relation to membership!
The season begins for our U14 girls on the weekend 5th /6th March with the Feile.

Pearse Og’s
Our Pearse Og programme will continue on Thursday night from 7pm – 8pm sharp for our Primary 1 – Primary 3 children only.  It is fantastic to see such great numbers!

Youth Team Managers
We thank everyone who volunteered throughout 2015 to help any of our many youth teams – without the help of our coaches and parents it would not be possible.  Plans are now being put in place to appoint various coaches and managers for next season.  Anyone who is interested either managing a team or helping out in any way for football, boys & girls, please contact Kevin Kelly (Youth Officer).

Level 1 Further Coaching
Anyone interested in completing Level 1 Further Coaching on 9th April for ladies to contact Sinead McCann or Eimear Tally (must have completed fundamentals course)!

Congratulations
Congratulations to all the Galbally players involved in the St Patrick’Academy MacRory Cup Panel who defeated the 2015 MacRory Cup Champions St Patrick’s, Cavan on Saturday.  Good luck in the MacRory Cup Semi-final from all at the club.

Club Lotto
This week’s numbers (Tuesday 23rd February) were: 6, 10, 2 & 12.

Our 4 lucky dip winners are:- Sean Carberry, Aidan Quinn, Shannon Tierney & Daniel Brannigan winning £25 each.

Next Draw takes place on Tuesday 1st March @ 9pm!

If you need a lotto seller to call to your home, contact any committee member or alternatively tickets can be purchased in Tally’s Mace or Donnelly’s Post Office.

Lotto is an essential source of income for the club & your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Club Shop
The club shop will be open on Friday Nights from 7.30pm – 8.30pm.   Membership can be paid during this time.    Stock is limited until delivery in late February- keep an eye on Facebook for updates!

The club would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the families of Peter Allen, Gene Stewart (Killeeshil), Ann Treanor (Augher), PJ Logan (Stewartstown), Patsy McGurk (Kildress) & Frank McKenna (Killeeshil).   May they Rest in Peace.   Our thoughts and prayers are with any families in the area who are dealing with illness in their family at this time.
