By Francis O'Neill Thu 4th Jun

Senior Men
Well done to our Senior Men last Saturday night when they booked their place in the Quarter Final of the Championship with a score line of 2-17 to 0-00 over Killeeshil.  The men had to play under treacherous conditions, however the senior men played some exciting fast football and took some great scores.
It was also good to see Enda McGarrity and Liam Rafferty amongst the scores after recovering from longterm injuries.  Well done to all players and management on winning the first round.  There will be no senior or reserve matches this weekend due to the championship games on this weekend.  Their next game in the league will be against Derrylaughan on the 14th of June.

Ladies Football
This Friday our Senior ladies will be away to Trillick on Friday night with a throw in of 7:30pm.  All support welcome. Last week the ladies were narrowly defeated by two points by Castlederg. Good luck this week girls!

Monday evening seen the end of the Gaelic for Girls, this was a great 9 week programme where over 40 girls thoroughly enjoyed the training sessions and some girls that attended had never played football before- that alone was a great experience for them all.  There was a small presentation on Monday night where the girls were presented with their Gaelic 4 Girls jersey and certificates.  We hope to see all the girls back out playing football in the near future.

Youth football
Last Saturday seen the 10th Annual Martin Mc Caughey Tournament take place in Pearse Park. We had 16 teams taking part from all over Tyrone, Derry and Monaghan.  All teams played to their best potential and there was some very competitive games.  The Shield was won by Fintona after they beat Killeeshil in the Final, this was Fintona’s first year in the competition – Well done to them.  The Final of the Martin Mc Caughey Cup  was between Errigal Ciaran and Dungannon, with Errigal Ciaran coming out winners after a very entertaining game. Congratulations to Errigal Ciaran GAA.  This was also Dungannon’s first year in the competition and to make the final was a great achievement.

We would like to thank everyone who helped out on the day, especially to all the women and Kieran who spent hours in the Kitchen preparing all the food – we can’t thank you all enough for all your hard work.

Training for U6, U8 Boys and Girls and U10 boys will continue to take place on Wednesday at 7pm.

U8 girls will have a Blitz this Saturday, venue and time is still to be confirmed.  Please keep and eye on the Facebook page and we will notify you all once we know.

U10 Boys will have a Blitz this Saturday in Loughmacrory.

U14 were unlucky to get beat by Pomeroy in the Championship – that draws their season to a close for this year.  We would like to thank all the players and managers for all their hard work throughout the season.

The minors will play in the Quarter Final of the Championship on the 12th of June against Clonoe.

We would like to thank each family that hosted the players from St Paul’s Academy, they had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed their stay within Galbally.  This wouldn’t of been possible without the help and support of the host families so we can’t thank you all enough.
