Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 11th Of May

Senior Football
Great win by the Seniors against Loughmacrory last Thursday night with a scoreline of 2:12 to 1:08. The two Murphy brothers Mickey and Decky getting the two goals, with Michael Corr pulling off a few great saves at the other end.  Great overall team performance from our Boys.
Reserve league game will be played on Saturday 16th May away to Loughmacrory at 5.30pm.

Ladies Football
Our Senior Ladies next game is this Saturday away to The Rock, Throw is at 7pm.  All support welcome for the girls.  Good luck to you all.
Gaelic 4 Mothers training will continue on Monday nights at 7:15.

Youth
U16 Training will start next Friday night 22nd May.
Training continues every Wednesday  night for U6 & U8 Boys and Girls and also U10 Boys.
Many Thanks to Ciaran Murphy as he has sponsored training gear and 10 footballs to the under 6 boys and girls.
Gaelic 4 Girls continues every Monday 6:30-7:30pm.
U12 Girls Ulster Blitz will take place in Galbally this Saturday morning, time to be confirmed.

Hosts
Next week we will be hosting the Under 14’s from St Paul’s Academy in partnership with Dulwich Harps as their begin their Gaelic Football tour of Ireland.  We really appreciate the families who offered to host the children and keep them for their duration of their stay in Galbally.  They will arrive at Galbally Community Centre on Thursday 21st May around 8pm.  They have a action packed week, this is only some of their plans they will be doing:  Friday they will play a game against St Patricks Academy Dungannon and heading out for dinner that night , Saturday 23rd they will attend a U14 Blitz at Kileavy Gaa (Armagh) and following that there will be a Under Age Disco at Galbally Community centre that night, ages from P7- to over 14’s can attend the disco.  On Sunday they will be attending the Ulster Championship game between Cavan and Monaghan.  We want to make them all feel welcome in Galbally and make their experience one to remember, we are lucky to have one of our own Galbally exiles Micheal Donnelly as their head coach and main organiser of their trip.  We hope they all enjoy their stay with all the families.

Path Of The Pearses
Last week we started our training for the ‘Path of the Pearses’ cycle, on our first night we had over 70 cyclists out on the road, fantastic turn out.  Following this on Sunday morning we had another great turn out with all cyclists cycling over 20 miles, great achievement to you all.  Training will continue every Tuesday & Thursday at 7pm and Sunday Mornings at 8:30am.  If you would like to sign up for the Path of the Pearses, registration would be open again on Tuesday night 8-9pm.
We would strongly advise all our cyclists to get insurance with cycling Ireland.
It is COMPULSORY everyone wears a Helmet.  We would suggest everyone gets their bicycles checked making sure they are ready for the road.  We would also recommend the following: Water, Jacket, Cycling shorts ,Tubes and Pump.

Golf Classic
Golf Classic will take place on Friday 22nd May. Team of 4 for £140. Dinner and a starter pack provided.

Tickets
Anyone that has placed a ticket order for this Sunday’s Tyrone vs Donegal game can collect their tickets from the club shop on Friday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.  Please spread the word.

Gaeltacht Grants
Gaeltacht grant forms can be received from Tallys Shop.  Please note these forms have to be signed by our club secretary Gareth Rafferty and be left up to the Garvaghey Centre by the 15th May.

Congratulations
Mickey Donaghy was the winner of our Last Man Standing Competition.  Congratulations Mickey!

Sympathy
The club would like to send their sincere sympathy to the family of Nan Morris.  May she rest in peace.

Good Luck to our three club representatives Colin Campbell, Liam Rafferty and Daniel Kerr who are a part of the Tyrone Minor Squad who play Donegal this Sunday.  Best of luck boys.
