Piarsaigh An Ghallbhaile Notes: Week Beginning 28th Of September

By Francis O'Neill Fri 2nd Oct

Seniors
Pride of place this week goes to our reserve team who beat Cookstown in the County Final to become Division two County Champions!  Great achievement for all involved.  It was a very entertaining game to watch.  Congratulations to all the players and managers.  All the hard work and long training sessions paid off.  Thanks to all the supporters who came out to support the men in the final and cheer them on.  It was a great night for the club.  Our Senior men travelled to Kildress last Saturday to play their league fixture.  After what was a disappointing result the previous week in the championship our senior men played brilliantly against Kildress.  They came away with two more points to add to the league table.  There are no fixtures this weekend, though the following weekend we are at home to Killeeshil.

Youthteam2
This Saturday both our U8’s and U10’s will take part in tournaments in Carrickmore.  A bus will be leaving the Community Centre at 9.15am.  Football starts at 10am.

U13 Boys season is now finished for the year.  We would like to thank all the players and management for all their commitment during training and matches.

U10 and U12 girls football is now finished for this year, we hope all the girls enjoyed their year especially taking part in the Gaelic 4 Girls campaign.

U16 girls championship will take place this week against Edendork.  We wish the girls the best of luck.

If there is anyone interested in managing the minor boys next season please get in contact with our Youth Officer Kevin Kelly.

Ladies
Our senior ladies were unlucky in their semi final of the league game against Trillick last week.  A last minute goal from Trillick stole the victory from our girls who were defeated by 1 point.  Hard luck girls and all the management team.  This finishes the senior ladies football for this year.

Well done to our U16 girls who beat Edendork in the quarter final of the championship with a score line of 6-21 to 5-7, brilliant result girls. Now looking forward to the semi final.

Connect Four Lotto
This week’s connect four lotto results 4, 12, 10, 9.  There was no jackpot winners.  The four lucky dip winners were, Fionnuala Hughes, Bernadette Kerr, James Kelly and Margaret Corr each winning £25.  Please support our weekly lotto.

Sympathy
The club would like to take this opportunity to send our deepest sympathies to the families of Andy Vincent (Donaghmore), Eugene Campbell (Donaghmore), Mary Morris, Grandmother of our senior player Christopher Morris.  Sean Haughey, brother of our former manager Benny Haughey.  May they Rest in Peace.
